Dear Servant of Christ,
Commissioned To Preach The Gospel
Greetings to you.
The new year has started and already the first month has come and gone.  There were many blessings to speak of in 2007, in spite of many of us facing various challenges, but thanks be to God who gives us the power to overcome.  We are grateful for God's faithfulness in 2007 and are looking forward to an even more fruitful 2008.

As you take the time to read this email newsletter, we hope that you are encouraged, even as we have been, in seeing the power of God at work.

We invite you to take part in the various events of the year and especially take advantage of upcoming training opportunities starting February 10th.  Most of all we encourage each and every one this year to seek to Lord in how we all may be even more effective in fulfilling the Apostolic Mandate and building the Kingdom of God.

Praise the Lord
Rejoice!  God has done great things!  We would like to share a few highlights from 2007 as we watched the Lord move in response to our prayers, and the prayers of all those that stand with us throughout the year.

There is HEALING in the Blood of Jesus
There were several training workshops taking place in early 2007, one of which was "Healing Ministry Workshop."  This was a collaboration between the Wednesday evening School of Healing, the Usher's Dept. Healing Class, and the Evangelism Department.  Several people experienced healing miracles in the midst of the training and ministry, then weeks after the training one of our team members was healed of an ongoing heart problem.  The doctors advised her to stop using her medication as it was no longer needed.

Fruit That Remains
One of the many things we were praying for last year was fruit that remains.  God has called us to be fruitful and have lasting fruit.  Last year through our Compassion Ministry we begin to establish relationship with the homeless.  After an all day outing last February which including a movie outing, "The Pursuit of Happyness," several of them remain connected with us today.  One lady has been delivered from a 20 year drug addiction, reconciled to her children and family, and is a part of our membership.  A couple of others have been consistent for months in a drug treatment program, is now housed and happy to be sober.  They are quick to say that they owe it all to Jesus.  One other man is also in a southside church housing program and busy doing the things he loves, cooking meals in their kichen daily.  He can be found in our church service every Tuesday.  For all of the others not listed here, we are standing with them and praying for them, while being grateful for the transformation being brought to their lives by the power of the Holy Spirit.

More 2007 Highlights

Prophetic Evangelism (April 07):  The Lord moves upon the hearts of men as the secrets of their hearts are revealed during outreach at a southside shopping mall.

"I Dream Banquet" (May 07):  The banquet table is spread, and china is set in place, as this Compassion Ministry event saw 70 participants for the special program.  The homeless/former homeless were the special guests.  Our cook, who had been homeless for several years, had the opportunity to validate his many years of training and experience as a cook.

Bud Biliken Parade Outreach (August 07):  As the Lord directed us very differently relative to strategy of previous years, we spent the first 2 hours in prophetic worship only.  Afterwards the day was spent ministering as the fish (souls) were divinely drawn to our ministry base.  Souls were saved.  One lady was later baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit.

Christmas Fellowship Gathering (Dec 07):   This year's fellowship was a special time of rejoicing as the former homeless joined in on the festivities.

Glory of GodJesus, The God of Compassion
Matthew 9:36 tells us that Jesus was moved with compassion as He looked upon a multitude of people in need of a shepherd.  Many of us, as we look upon the multitudes of people in our communities that are either poor in spirit or living in poverty or homelssness, are also moved. The compassion of Jesus, coupled with the directive of the Holy Spirit, causes us to act.  Like many who sit in darkness, though we are Christians today, were yet poor and destitute.  Though some of us may have had financial means as sinners, we were in spiritual poverty until Jesus delivered us from our condition through His love, mercy and compassion.

We invite you to join with us as we endeavor to reach the poor in spirit, the poor in body, and the one who has yet to truly recognize his spiritual condition.

We will be providing food, care packages, and some clothing to the homeless on Saturday, February 9th.  We inivte you to join us as we go out and minister.  For those of you that cannot join us, we ask for your prayers and welcome your donations. Financial donations will help us purchase food for coming and future distributions.  All checks are to be written to Crusaders Church.  The following items are needed:

Hats, gloves, socks, travel sized toothpaste, toothbrush, bar soap, plastic razors, deodorant for men/women, travel sized lotion, hand sanitzer, lip balm, travel sized wet wipes, single-use laundry detergent

These items can be brought to the class registration table on Sunday, Feb. 3rd.  After that date, items can be delivered to Crusaders Church, 3821 S. Michigan Avenue on February 9th.  Please bring items on February 9th between 8:00 am and 9:00 am during package assembly time.  Please see our Compassion Ministry Coordinator, Deaconess Beverly Napier, for more information.

The Word of God tells us in Acts 1:8 that He gave us POWER to be witnesses.  Let's demonstrate the love of God, proclaim the salvation of our King, and show forth His power in our city and to the uttermost parts of the earth.

Sincerely,
